I graduated from Rochester Institution of Technology with BA Graphic Design in 2008 and MA in Deaf Education in 2010. I taught deaf and hard of hearing students at RIT, California School for the Deaf, New Jersey School for the Deaf, and New York School for the Deaf.

American Sign Language is a beautiful and expressive language with the use of hands and body. Everyone can learn sign language, especially babies. Babies, whether deaf or hearing, tend to learn pretty much everything by observing as they grow. By repeated exposure to signs such as "milk," "mommy," "daddy", "book," "play," they begin to sign themselves. You will be surprised at the babies capability to grasp and thrive using sign language.

I am the proud mom of two girls. I've taught my two amazing girls sign language since they were born. They are really absorbing the language and their ability to comprehend and respond to word signs such as "milk," "food," "more," "please," "potty", "play", sleep," is amazing.
Using signs allows your baby to express him or herself with gestures before he or she is able to speak with words. Research shows that signs can help your baby learn to speak with words sooner. In addition, I believe that frustration and tantrums can be avoided by closing the gap between desire to communicate and the ability to do so.
